MATH 101: Don’t Send the Deck

  • By Troy Henikoff

When you are talking to a new investor, your main goal is to get the meeting. Well, how do you do that? Don’t send the deck! Watch today’s MATH 101 to get Troy’s tips on how to get the meeting, and what you should send instead of your deck.

EDIT: I have added an example of a good one-pager below – this is from a portfolio company, Nickels. Notice how you can get a feel for the company QUICKLY scanning “Problem”, “Solution”, “Business Model” and drilling down in each if you want to, but not facing a wall of text. The graph of up and to the right revenue catches my eye as do all of the great logos and books associated with the people. After looking at this, I want to know more – that is what makes it a great teaser…
